Punto oil filter removal

Someone has advised me to take the Fram oil filter off and replace it with alternate brand.

The filter's only been on about a month but I've been warned about poor filtration.

If I unscrew it, would I loose much oil ?

You'll lose a filter full, plus a few dribbles - maybe 1/2 pint maximum. Personally I wouldn't bother, but obviously others may know different! Fram filters have been around for ages and I wouldn't listen to the motor factors advice committee.....particularly attentive on Saturdays!

There seems to be some hatred for them all over the internet, if you search you will find a video examining different filters with the tops cut off.
In reality i would leave it alone, its not the best filter but its not the worst either.

The Fram filter can stay put. Its filtering Millers brand oil so its got a good team mate.

I suppose logically, if Fram were producing poor products they'd be out of business.

I was told by one motor factor that Mintex brakes are now budget quality but I think they're 1st class!
