Putting new light up in the attic

I am using a plastic light switch and back box so do I not need to earth it at the switch? Just run the earth straight to the bulb is that correct?
The cable will be going to the switch, at which point you'll have to cut it, so you'll need to join the earth to the outgoing cable - you might as well use the earth terminal in the box.

Don't forget to sleeve the earths G/Y....

In the bulb I have 8 holes (3 live 3 N and 2 Earth) does it matter which of these holes I put my L, N & E Wire into?

What’s wrong with

Switch<-----------Junction Box-------------->Bulb?

I was thinking the other way because I would go from JB and tack the cable along the truss until I get to the switch then from switch to light as it can be tacked neatly in one line.

OK, no problem if that is the way you want to do it.
Does this make sense, Mr Happy?

Live from junction box
to
Common terminal of light switch
L1 terminal of light switch to
to
Live terminal of light fitting

Neutral from junction box
to
Choc block in light switch backing box
to
Neutral of light fitting

Earth from Junction box
to
Earth terminal in light switch backing box
to
Earth terminal in light fitting

Thank you very much.

So I wont be touching the LOOP TERMINAL in the light fitting Right?

Ther are a couple of spaces in the NEUTRAL terminal block to to put my neutral wire does it matter which one it goes into?

My method can be simpler, install a single socket outlet spurred off the ring main on the wall by the loft hatch. Next put a 150watt halogen floodlight in the loft, pointing into the centre of the loft, and screw it down securely to the joists. - Run a piece of flex from the floodlight to a 3amp fused plug, and plug it in, this way you cannot leave the light on by mistake, as the lead must be unplugged before you can close the loft hatch!

No, but you could trip over the flex and leave the loft by mistake...
