Do you have the ability to take a photo or vid, pretty well all the time?

If you saw something remarkable, would you try to get a pic?

You need a "depends what it is" on the pole

There are things that maybe remarkable to some but distasteful.

i have a 5 year old mobile my first ever so its in my pocket and does nothing it doesnt take part in my life unless i am at home and watsapp goes off or the phone goes off it is subservient to my need not the other way around :D
i have 400 thingies off 4g and use 5 or six a month
yes pictures could be brilliant and easy but as you need to have the mindset that includes a phone that has a camera in the front off your brain which i havent naturally got :D

And neither did all the people around them, when they pointed, and shouted "look, a drone!"

Kudos to Bas for knowing what you meant - although he does use the same technique.

Much more self-satisfying than asking "Why did no one take a picture of the drone?"

Noseall calls me vague.

You saying this was a government job to get more anti-drone legislation through the commons ? ... False flag ?

Don't think it would be that easy to video on a smart phone. They are often easier to hear than see.

"We are interviewing those who have reported these sightings, are carrying out extensive house-to-house inquiries, and carrying out a forensic examination of a damaged drone found near the perimeter of the airport."

Det Ch Supt Tingley said it was "a working assumption" the device could be connected to their investigation, but officers were keeping "an open mind".

doesn't sound like a hoax.

I question the need for additional legislation, unless they can somehow separate toys from "professional" drones..

it already goes quite far:http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2018/623/made

The police are now saying its possible there was no drone

Is that what JohnD is getting at.

Could the police be that incompetent?

What was the footage thats been shown on the news? -was it actually from Gatwick......

Maybe the people that saw the drone were working airside on the runway, in which case they probably wouldnt have a phone on them and would not be in a group.

I doubt there are many places to see the sky from within the terminal buildings -so any sightings probably werent from people catching a plane.

I would, I take loads of random pictures, for example:

A cool urinal:

Some odd bricks on a house next door to a house I worked at:

And some drones I saw at Gatwick
