Caught the Calcutta - Bombay train in Jabalpur, 18 hour trip,(36 hour total) due in at 11 am arrived bang on time, our driver was on the platform waiting for usWe were desperate to get out Alleppey... at hotel reception we were told the only train that day to Thiruvananthapuram was in half an hour.
we quickly packed our stuff and jumped into the taxi. The train station was across town. If you know India it's mad trying to get anywhere fast through Indian traffic. I can only describe our taxi journey to the car chase in the French connection.
Indians i believe to be the best drivers in the world.
Through packed streets of Alleppey I have no idea how we nether crashed. He was bibbing and revving .... Rickshaws would move politely out of our way without abuse and a smile..through a street of what should have been 3 lanes was something like 7 lanes and not in any order crossing each other.
We got to the train station I gave driver far to many US dollars and thanked him for helping us. We had a minute.
One Indian person in front of us in the ticket que. I apologised and asked could I jump in front as our train was leaving in 1 minute. They looked at me with those Indian time sod off eyes. The ticket man was in no rush. I don't think he could understand my panic.
Slowly he dished out the tickets for platform 13.
No train to be seen so thinking we had missed it we run an run in the hope it was late. Up and down the stairs each platform had a set up and down from 1 to 13.
We were shattered by 13 in 90 degree heat.
No train...
One Swedish girl sat waiting; I run up to her "Are you going to Thiruvananthapuram?"
2 hours later we leave for Thiruvananthapuram" yes the train is late" she replied.
" thank God we can relax"
3 hours later the train turns up...
When in India do as the Indians or go spin.Thats Indian time
It's funny how Brexiteers want a trade deal with India.....that would come with freedom of movement.
But moan about the EU.
It's old gammons thinking about the empire
Rule britannia

To the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel?Would suit me as I could then retire India then.
thinking logically and keeping ones thoughts about brexiteers and gammons to one side, india want freedom for students to come and learn, they don't want a mass exodus of skilled workforce.
india have for years been trying to get trade deals around the world to lessen the influence of china, and they themselves have much to offer similar to china in the earlier years, cheap labour, an abundance of labour at that, but the problem is they are soo bad at negotiating and not to mention so slow that as yet they haven't been successful on any deals regardless of how many times they do a campaign re-launch.
the fact of the matter is they have so much red tape and staff that have an unwillingness to take accountability all talks stall.

Any free movement would bring highly skilled people to the UK and people with money to India..... I cant see any free movement would have no limits on 1,384,660,352 Dillion Gillian people.
Yet you objected to the people from Europe.
Strange.
I object to the fact we have no control on any Tom Dick and Demitri. I love the Poles Ive met, The Romanians are great and in general they are all good clean living decent people.
I would more than likely side with you if you weren't so fond of foreign criminals and wrong-ens.
