quiet?

A couple of years ago i built my own PC. Had it in an Antec media case, which had two 120mm fans in it. Quite quiet on the lowest setting.

I moved all the components (you can do this) into another case, an Antec three hundred. This now has the two 120mm fans from the old case blowing in at the front, a stock 120mm fan blowing out at the back, and a 160mm fan blowing out at the top. Whisper quiet, but i miss the rubber grommets on the hard drives. :(

What make is the fridge, we could keep this thread going on that LOL...

:D ... like it!

I was going to add that with working with PCs at work in two separate jobs and from personal experience I find that Dell PCs are quieter. In fact, they design their PCs (I'm going off OptiPlex models) and servers with heat in mind and arrange components accordingly in the case so that everything is cooled optimally.

If you're building your own PC then you can always replace the case fans with quieter ones or install an in line fan resistor to the existing fans. I built my own for music production and I went for another option which was to install a multi fan controller. I connected all the fans to this and I'm able to turn the fans up for gaming but turn them down for sampling and editing audio.

Btw... our fridge is a Miele... I can hardly ever hear it ;)
