Quinn Flat Concrete Roof Tiles

Hey guys, have any of you had experience of fitting Quinn concrete flat roof tiles? I have been looking to choose from Marley Modern, Calderdale Flat both at around £1.20 per tile or Quinn Flat at £0.76 per tile. Quinn are noticably thinner both in thickness and interlock. Any feedback or reviews much appreciated.

I used grey ones and the coating was patchy, bit like they were painted then stacked before the paint had dried.

Thanks, I'm not sure what you mean as the colour runs through the concrete tile.

I used them recently on a garage for a customer, it was the black ones and they looked great once done.

Avoid Marley tiles, the colour is painted on them.

Maybe I used Quinn blocks and Marley tiles. They had a very pale aggregate in them and the black coating on them.

i would be a little careful using the Quin tiles, i used 1100 of these on our bungalow roof at the front when we extended it almost 6 years ago, after about 5 1/2 years we started to get water stains on the ceilings and on looking in the loft i could see that water had started to come through was is laughingly called roofing felt [it now has to be the breathable crap that will allow water to soak through it to satisfy the building inspector] when i looked on the roof in the area where water seemed to be coming through there were quite a few tiles that had the bottom tongue broken at around 130 to 140mm or so up from the bottom of each tile this of cause allowed water to run through the crack between the tiles then down through the crack in the lower overlap and into the laths/felt area below the lathes then held and allowed the water to drip through the felt then drip onto the insulation and ceiling below. i thought changing the first lot of damaged tiles had cured the problem but now 2 months later it is happening all along the roof width and on checking the tiles again there are many that have the same problem of broken bottom lips [ i have now changes over 30 and run out of tiles but i estimate i would need at least 300 more to maybe replace the damaged ones that are there then would it all happen again?], im now going to change all these what i feel are rubbish Quinn ones for marley modern ones

i have contacted quinn but as i expected they didn't get back to me, as i feel they have an inferior product as they are indeed thinner & i think they have started to crack following the hot weather last summer [expanding] then cooling down and shrinking so stressing the tile interlocking tongues.

i have used the calderdale ones on my garage roof which is 40 feet wide and these tiles which are thicker have been fine [so far] but im going to stick to the marley modern from now on and chalk this up to experience
