It was Orgone as the mythical "life energy" thing which is what I meant, vaguely remembered. Having taken your advice and looked him up I see there was a breadth of nonsense claimed for the quackery. Amazing that there's still a New York basement for the "science".

Yeah, his idea stemmed from Freud and tossed in Eastern mysticism with a side salad of Kinsey. Orgone Energy became a guiding star for the Free Love generation in the 60s and eventually led to a sanitised version for the New Age generation in the 90s. Eileen Drewery had a version of the box with her 'Pyramid' - a wooden frame that Glenn Hoddle sent member's of the '98 World Cup squad to increase their energy and maybe enlighten themselves. It's a shame Gazza didn't have the chance but 'the Romford Pele', Ray Parlour, just sat there and asked her for a "short back and sides please, Eileen.":p
