Racist woman on tram

Women was a rude thick bitch. It does seem to me though that basically it is acceptable to call white skinned people nicknames but not people with coloured skin. Sometimes that is a bit of a big nellie in the room.

If she is so proud to be English, maybe she should learn how to speak it.

Mitch, care to elaborate? I live in the same area that this incident took place and cannot ever recall a time a person from another country, or colour called me a name for being white.

Although I did get some stick from some frogs once for being English

It seems the Joe v IM racist viewpoint will never be agreed, so I can't be bothered to read pages of tit for tat arguing yet again.
Whether her comments are racist or not I can only think, reading the transcript, what disgusting representatives of today's society those women were...their foul mouthed argument is absolutely distasteful and offensive, it makes me ashamed to think that anyone would find such an outburst on a train full of people with children present is acceptable whether it is racist or not.

But that said, what's your viewpoint Susie?

My viewpoint on the incident...is as stated in my post.

I do not have a particular standpoint on racism......I don't think however that our country has particularly benefited by all immigration.
Driving through Sparkhill in Birmingham a few weeks ago I didn't find it pleasant that it was like being in a foreign country, maybe that makes me racist....I wouldn't think so, but I am not going to get drawn into an argument.

somebody once said we are a nation of immigrants. immigration to britain has been going on for centuries. everybody in this country has a bit of the immigrant in them. that whether you like it or not is one of the things that makes this country great.

Is that an own goal, Susie?
If not it looks like it's a near miss.

I've worked in Sparkhill, many years ago, and had many friends in the locality.
Eaten at quite a few good restaurants there too. :D

It's certainly one of the cheapest places to shop in Birmingham.
It's also one of the few places you could buy a tray of sweetcorn with the husk still on.

Just for the record, I think that immigration has been a good thing.
It's the uncontrolled, unregulated, un-policed passage into this country, and the failure to deport visitors that have overstayed or violated their visa that has given rise to the complaints.
But we shouldn't tar everyone with the same brush.

Yes, perhaps indigenous Brits do have genetic material from other races. That's because we have evolved, and are suited to an advanced, modern word. We are more likely to seek peaceful solutions to conflict (except Joe and Martian), and would rather advance ourselves through trade and innovation.

Reading through your post I have to admit that you may be right and I am wrong....I suppose its all about perception...and making an instant decision on what you see...which is not always good or right, but to be honest it looked really scruffy and downtrodden, hence my comments.

It maybe partly because where I live, there are very, very few signs of immigration (as in black people) am I allowed to say that
Obviously we now have some eastern europeans that you hear in shops or supermarkets...but it seems apparently not many people want to come to Cornwall.

Thank you for your comment....it made me stop and think ....and of course that is always good :)

Snap, Billesley, Kings Heath, Stirchley.

Were you a Swanshurst, Bishop Challoners, Queensbridge or King Edwards pupil? I'm assuming that Baverstock was after your time. Or is that getting too personal? I'm going no further, promise.

And I'm only in UK to finish off the extension and I don't have the heating sorted, in France, yet. I'm looking forward to full time in France. Mind you that part of France is full of immigrants. My experience is that the Bretons welcome them.

We will get told off for chatting on the thread
I passed for the grammar school but went to Brandwood Secondary Mod...it was in my road and I was lazy....I hated getting up :)

Martian. I'm still awaiting your answer.

So you are saying that all border checks should be removed and the people of the world can all come here if they want to? No need to hide on lorries?

Answer please.
