Radiators not heating up after new pump installed

Hi

Had a new pump fitted and the guy had to drain down the system, after he had fitted and refilled system the radiators only got luke warm and he says it will be air in system and to bleed radiators.

Done this all weekend and water coming out of all radiators but still only slightly warm if that, apart from the one in the living room closest to boiler which gets very hot .

The system is an old 1 pipe system with a Baxi back boiler and expansion tank above hot water cylinder in bathroom airing cupboard.

Have attached photos of pipes into/from boiler and hot water cylinder.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Yes both valves fully open and also tried different speeds on pump but still same.

If possible, can you give us a clear, closer picture of the 'new' pump?

As @Gasguru mentions though, it's not been installed correctly.

One pipe systems are notoriously difficult to sort out, get the guy back, he shouldn't have left before it was balanced properly, tested and left working properly.

As has been said if the shaft is vertical it has been installed wrongly. The instructions supplied with the pump make this quite clear.

It's also a terrible installation electrically. Where did you find "this guy"? Why is the cable gland 10cm down the cable instead of being fitted to the terminal box properly? Grundfoss don't provide them for decoration. Also, it doesn't look like heat resistant cable, it looks like standard flat twin and earth cable that isn't even secured properly and appears to be lying atop a hot pipe. Methinks it's time to get someone professional in who knows what they are doing to sort everything out.

No quality heating eng. would waste their time on that system...I'd run a mile.

You say it is lying on the ground; but is it sticking up in the air with the data label at the top? A more general pic, so we can get our bearings, would help.

I can't see any feed/expansion pipes coming off the primary circuit to the cylinder. Is your "expansion tank" a cold water storage cistern with one vent over it from the top of the cylinder ? Meaning you have a primatic cylinder.
