Radiators not heating up after new pump installed

yes does sound like that, there are various ways of clearing that, as already been said on here , no reason for it to be drained in the first place , bunging the tank or freezer kit would be the safest option on an old system, I just called a mate in Jesmond but he says he is not interested on working on a one pipe, cant really blame him, I wouldnt either, best of luck

Thanks for that Ian, see what the lad says when he pops round later. Hopefully adding some chemical to tank might remove it .

The system needs reverse mains blasted. Shut off the rads and fill the pipe with a bit of mains pressure, right up to the F&E tank. If it was crud in the tank that has blocked it, mains pressure will easily clean it and will also remove any airlocks in the system at the same time. It's not difficult to shut off parts of the system to direct the flow. Anyone with a bit of experience would know what to do and obviously SSE don't have anyone that knows what they are doing.

Replace the system .... jeesh .... they really need to sort themselves out they really do .... idiots ... Give's our game such a bad name so they do.
