radiators not hot enough !!!

If the boiler temp is set to 3 this will over-ride the room stat and it will turn your heating off at that temperature, (if say 3 on the boiler is 15 degrees that is where it will shut the boiler down so room stat at 30 will make no difference) try it. Inhibitor is a must for heating as it stops it rusting internally. If you are drawing in air you need to get it sorted as this will be detrimental to your heating.

It is drawing in air in just 2 rads upstairs  bathroom and small bedroom other bedrooms never have air in them dont know why. So how or why is this any ideas, and how can l stop this from happening. Thanks for all the advice anyway

The air will accumulate in the highest rads. Could be a number of reasons for this (see F.A.Q.) Have you always had problem with air ? if not could just need inhibitor adding.

gigz l,m going to flush the system and see if this will improve the heating. l have had a look at F.A.Q pages but not sure which or what is the best method. What is the best way to drain down and fill up the system again, l have a drain cock in the dining room. The systems tank is in the loft, would lifting and placing a stick across the ball cock to stop it refilling work.

Careful you might snap it. Put the stick above the ball and use string. Drain at the lowest point, with the tank empty pour sludge remover (fernox x400 is good) into the tank, re-fill and run for up to 2 weeks. Drain down again, flush with clean water until x400 all out then add x100 inhibitor (1 bottle should do). You really need to find out why you are taking in air because this will eventually rust you rads from the inside.

Or you can go to HSS and hire a powerflush unit to do the job properly?
Is a powerflush expensive to hire and what is the best method to drain down with one. Also l know there may be quite a few reasons why l always have air in a few rads but what would be the most common reason(s) so l may be able to check it out.
