radiators to hot ?

hi, i have a myson boiler about 20 years old but works ok. i have 5 radiators .1 downstairs 4 upstairs all with trv,s on. Ihave no room thermostats just the thermostat in the casing of the boiler this is set at 3.
when the heating is on the rads seam to get to hot (to the touch) but the boiler does keep turning it self off and on etc do the rads need balancing etc or maybe a service of the boiler. this is an open vented system

try fitting a room stat will stop the boiler cycling on/off when the house is to temp.
your just running on the boiler stat now which will only go off when the heating is turned off

ok but which room would be best to put it in? also how do i link it to the boiler and were does the senser fit ? cheers
