It's my 1st post, so be gentle.
My 11yr old flowmax vented indirect 180ltr hot water cylinder has started leeking. Range want £1128 for a new one. Iam thinking about a Heatrea Sadia Megaflo instead which has a 25yr warranty.
a)is this my best option? (dry loft)
b)what size to get ? 4bed house,bath,shower. Heatrea says 170ltr, my plumber says 125ltr is ok as he has fitted them in 5bed houses.
c)My hot ouput has a thermostatic cold mixing valve on it so that the cylinder temp can be really high, then the ouput mixed to prevent scaulding taps.
Can i keep this as it would in effect give greater capacity and safety for children?
d)Will sealing/pressurising my micro bore radiator ciruit be ok? The last thing i want is pipes behind walls bursting!!!
e)How should the system work? The megaflo will shut itself off at set temp,
is this when water will go round radiators? What happens when room stat shuts off rads as well, or in the summer when hot water only is required.
