After having already had one, set up by the then Conservative government, that took seven years and cost £200million, and which the then Conservative government said it would mostly enact some time (but didn't)?

It's time to get on and do it.

"Professor Alexis Jay, the former chair of a seven-year national inquiry into child sexual abuse in England and Wales, which reported in 2022, on Tuesday criticised the “politicisation” of the issue and warned that a fresh probe could delay the implementation of her recommendations."

"Jay has previously criticised the former Conservative government for failing to implement the main 20 recommendations in her 2022 report, which warned of “endemic” abuse across society.

She said that starting a new inquiry could hinder the implementation of the recommendations from her report.

“It would certainly cause delays,” she told the Today programme. The time has passed for more inquiries. We’ve had enough of inquiries, consultations and discussions, especially for those victims and survivors . . . they clearly want action and we have set out what action is required and people should just get on with it locally and nationally.”

Remember Buffoon and the drinks parties scandal?

"Can't do anything now, must wait until the enquiry is complete."

Remember the Conservative Party Leader who thought that investigating abuse of children was a waste of money?

The Conservatives are certainly consistent.

"Starmer said Badenoch never mentioned grooming gangs in the Commons in eight years as an MP, despite having been children’s minister and minister for women and equalities."

He invited her to correct him if he was wrong.

She didn't.

The whole affair has reflected badly on the Tories. Encouraging a famous wealthy foreigner to attack Labour is probably one of the most damaging optics. As if things weren't Badenough for them. Farage - total embarrassment.

Massive own goal for the nasties.

Badenough should have offered cross-party support for actually doing what should have been done all along.

All equal under the eyes of the law, without fear or favour.

Instead, she's not only given succour to the Right Wangers, she's made her own party look even worse than they already are.

Bozo did a great job of emptying the Tories of any smidge of ability and talent.

Hateful specimen, totally out of her depth.

She wants one because the tories are losing support to re form, and thinks the answer is to follow them, rather than do the sensible thing politically and move back to the centre right. It’s difficult to level up when your busy digging tne hole.

The Million Women March on 17th February in London (and other places across the UK) is for anyone who wants to stand up for the protection of children in this country. Men are going too.

Better than trying to make the systematic abuse and rape of kids a political point scoring exercise.

The Labour Party want to act on the recommendation of the 7 year long enquiry.

Conservatives want a public enquiry……One presumes because they want to delay it another 7 years

"Well, that it started with the Conservative leadership demanding that the government publish data it had already published in November is not a great sign."
