i have seen them about they seem quite nifty for the price, but i cant quite see me getting into it that much, or more of the case i would be consumed by it if i did get one. haha.

I hope to run XMBC and keep it under the telly as a media center

I just want one.

I'll keep it in the loft. When I die, the kids can sell it as it surely will have appreciated in value by then, especially being unopened.

Do you think it'll have any value as a collectors item in years to come?

The tale of the Raspberry pi.

First we were all told to get up at 6am where we would find an exciting announcement (we took this to mean we would be able to order them).

We were in fact told we could order them from RS and Farnell.

However, RS was down, Farnell was down (too many hits).

Eventually, later in the day we could order one.
Time goes by....

Then we find out that they had to undergo further testing to conform to the standards required to sell them in certain countries Uk being one of them.
(This is something that whoever managed the PCB should have known about).

The we find that they have had to be sent back to the factory to change the RJ45 jack because its the wrong one.

So all we have is pictures of them on a pallet and we may eventually get them around the end of May if not August.

TBH, after all that my interest wained a little, then a lot.

Oh - not to forget mentioning that they PCB has no mounting holes and the connectors will not line up in a standard project case.

It has been a total farce from beginning to end and the end is not here yet.

I think I'll wait for the model C.

You can. I just bought one!

It's just that there was a slight delivery delay.

Mine arrived last week, well actually my sons arrived last week.
Mine will be a few more weeks yet.

Did not work on the first SD card because I put the OS image non it.
Actually I put the image 1/2 on the card and 1/2 on my laptop messing up the OS and causing me to need to install linux to get rid of the grub error.

Worked first time when my son imaged the SD card, just waiting for him to stop damn gaming and do another card lol.

Using a Nokia AC-10X 1200ma psu (less than £4) but do not have sound via HDMI yet.

Need to dig out some enclosures to see which I can fit it in.

I also need to learn Linux better.
Or what is more likely to happen is my son will learn it then I will get him to show me how to do it lol.

Running the gui, its a tad slow at responding.

Am gonna wait for the next version called Blueberry Muffin

Curious, does ICS install on these?
