Not sure you can generalise and say they have a single purpose to be honest.
I could see Android being handy if you were to use it as the basis of a car PC, as it would do all the nav and multimedia stuff and work with a touch interface.

Will it run Android?
If someone in the community can port a version of Android to work with 256MB of RAM, then it’ll run on the Raspberry Pi.
I therefore fully expect a version of Android for it fairly soon.
