I`m in the process of fitting patio doors, or rather 2, 30 inch doors in a frame to form internal patio doors. I can either rebate the door edges so the doors will close to each other, or, leave the doors without a rebate so each door can be opened seperatly.
Can anyone advise me what the rebate depth should be. My doors are veneered red hardwood / engineered core. The veneer at the sides appears to be 7mm thick, but that doesnt appear to be enough for a rebate.
Alternatly. is it possible to use ball catches on the top of the doors in order to keep them closed. I dont need them to be draught proof.
TIA
