Hi fellow colleagues

I have a wood floor which I think is engineered wood but I cant be sure

I dont want to replace it because I cannot afford to - Is there a way to put some shine back into this flloor witha wax or oil ? I prefer something super simple so can i just paint varnish on top or will that look silly?

I dont even know if this is varnished or oiled - Anyway to determine which it is ? I know if it is wax thena wax coat should be put on and if varnished then a varnish coat put on

Is there no product which you can apply to seal the floor regardless?? Danish oil or something similar?

It could be a Lacquered, oiled or waxed floor, it’s unlikely to be varnished.

If it’s lacquered then it has a polyurethane wear coat over the wood itself, this needs sanding off back to the wood and then a treatment can be done.

If it’s oiled or waxed then a light sand/key then floor oil over the top.

what can i do with basic diy stuff? Can I put oil straight over or paint varnish or something else?

I do not have funds to hire a sander and I have done it before it causes a mess
