Hi, I currently have a Glow worm Micron regular boiler which serves 10 rads and I want to add an additional 2 rads. I have been told that the current boiler will be unable to cope with the additional requirement and I will need to upgrade.

I was thinking of killing two birds with one stone and changing to a larger system boiler thereby removing the water tanks in the attic (and eliminating the threat of freezing pipes in the attic).

A couple of questions:

1.Excluding the additional pipework for the extra rads, will the conversion involve simply redirecting the cold water supply from the cold water tank i.e. only involve work in the attic and cylinder cupboard?

2.Will doing this reduce the water pressure for my upstairs shower (not a power shower)?

Advice would be appreciated, thanks
