by 'regulars' i meant in the context of your local boozer...(or at least in the old days!)... there was a core of blokes who you knew would always be there. And you could stand at the bar, and have a decent chat with whichever of the locals happen to be stood next to you.

In those days, the landlord wouldn't be bothered if you swore... and he'd only chuck you out if you were a nkob!!

And when a bloke came in spoiling for a fight, he'd get his arris kicked back out the door...
