Why do religious people try to convert other people to their religion and why can't they accept someone because they choose to think differently?

If you read the forum you'll see that it is the atheists trying to do the convincing.

atheist zealots will always try to convert other people to their evil religion off worshipping the false gods of money, materialism , sport etc.
Its the nature of the beast.

Oh they even have an answer to that!

The Catholic church believes that if they sold up and gave everything away they'd be in no position to support the poor.

(And, of course, they wouldn't be able to live so well themselves!)

The Catholic church need their money to pay out of court settlements for the years of abuse that they covered up/ignored. ;)

This post wrongly polarises "religious" people vs atheists... It's actually a reasonable relationship between 'most' religions and atheism.

Where the problem really shows itself is between different religions...

A bit like football fans, they tend to fight other fans... but they don't hunt down non football fans.

In islam even, you have the shi'ites and sunnis killing each other... protestants v catholics etc...

Not many atheists start their day loading a gun to support atheism... we tend to be troubled by religious notions... and speak out, that's all !

But the money never goes to the poor anyway. It goes either to the terrorists (in the Middle East) so that they can eventually turn their weapons on us; or to the coffers of ruling despots (in Africa) so that they can maintain their swimming pools and Mercedes.

About half the food produced in the world (2 billion tons) is dumped every year.

In the UK as much as 30% of vegetable crops are not harvested due to their failure to meet retailers' exacting standards on physical appearance

Norcon, typical cherry picking of responses... why not take me on in a debate?

Whatever religion it is, it attracts big money

Norcom made the point of worshipping the false gods of money and materialism
but this is what all religions are based on, the religions are rich, the worshippers are poor., and its always been the same through out the ages.
