Remeha has rejected my warranty

Sorry guys, I can't see it. . Do I need a certain number of posts / membership time?

I have no doubt that I'm being thick. And what is a RGI?

If you are a Registered Gas Installer, you can ask the forum admin to allow you access to The CombustionChamber.

WTF is Agile going on about then? 'That's what the CC is for' and I can't even post there! :D

I was an accountant at Baxi, not an installer. Understandable assumption from Agile btw, I'm only kidding :).

Now that everyones got off :!: :!: on calling heateam, One engineers fault findings .Without a person being on site you cannot surely comment fully accurate findings, so totally slagging off engineers and organisations is bang out of order, and not required in any forum. Been to and worked on all boilers you could right abook about whats good and whats crap about em all, different people have different opinions.

Would agree there are always 2 sides to any story & one should be in full possesion of the facts ?

Leaving that aside ! I have noted a trend for a good while on how boiler manus are fully prepared to slag off the small trader in order to further there commercial interests , or weasle out of some 5 year plus , not worth a bag of beans warranty ( in most cases )
Most of em ? have caused installers problems , cost them money , damaged there reps with there latest only fit for the skip , state of the art boilers

What are you saying tran? Did I do the right thing by giving up installing for too little profit in favour of repairing? ;)

remeha are now in the process of getting a number of independants to cover their boiler breakdowns as the percentage of complaints from owners about heatteam incompetence, long response times and slagging off about installations.

Many contract supported remeha installers cover their own breakdowns and charge remeha to do so. We all carry most of the spares required and if not have them couriered the next day to us by heatteam

You got me there , thats for sure :) the future looks good for u !!

They normally take between 6 and 8 weeks to be paid.

since i changed to them paying by bacs they seem to be much quicker.

tested the 2 gas valves i had to change and it is the low rate coil on both that has failed

I have had heateam out to a few duotecs over the past year or so, and they have been more than amiable and helpful in fulfilling their warranty terms.

Heateam out twice to a 28 remeha combi, and it is a different kettle of fish.Sameengineer.Perhaps some sour grapes about being bought out.

Totally agree that slagging off an engineers findings, when you are not there is out of order. Unfortunately the great boiler fault finding experts are few and far between.

When Baxi and Potterton merged, it took a long time before the animosity was gone, according to some guys that work for them. Now they've been bought by foreigners, it might be a tad worse.

Where has your installer gone whilst all this is happening?

He should be the one who is sorting this out with Heat Team for you, especially if I have read this correct and he fitted both.

As all have said, this shower cannot affect the parts in the boiler, in fact the diverter valve has no link to the hot water flow at all. It just simply redirects the system water from the main HE to either the rads or the plate HE.

Although we have many excellent Heat Team engineers who post very good advice on here, of whom a lot of us would sometimes be lost without it, this one seems to not have a clue as to how a boiler works!

I would get your installer to take this up with the local area sales rep for Broag.

This is something that I and several others have feared would happen once Heat Team as a whole have taken over warranty work, rather than us local appointed engineers doing it, who have all attended Broag training.

I have a complaint in place at present over one of my local Heat Team engineers and as such will not fit them anymore.

As with any large organisation, the vast majority will be excellent, but you will always get a few muppets slip through.

A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE REMEHA BOILERS IS FAILED DIVERTER VALVES & MOTORS.
One of the criticisms levelled against the Avanta boilers has been that it uses standard parts - Dungs gas valves etc. So the diverter valves and motors are probably made by a third party.

You can't blame Remeha, or any other boiler manufacturer, if occasionally they receive a batch of below spec components from one of their suppliers.
After all the faulty diverter could have ended up in another make boiler.

Would you blame Ford (or BMW) if a tyre on your car developed a fault?

Of course i blame Remeha, DH.

If they fit below par components it is their responsibility. remeha got a very good press in this forum and in my view, as a medium scale installer, unjustifiably. i think they are cheap and not particularly well made.

And your Ford example was poorly chosen. Perhaps you have forgotten about Ford's biggest court battle over the tyres they fitted to their Explorer?
