Hi all

I'm repainting the garage door. It's a false door that doesn't open as the garage has been convereted into a room (by the previous owners).

I'm hoping to take the hinges off so i can easily paint the door. I will also sand and respray the hinges too.

I'm struggling to get this large coach type bolt out. Can i only assume there is a nut on the other side of the door which it screws into and needs to be removed? As i say, the doors don't open currently to get to the reverse of the door.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks in advance

It seems likely. Al you can do, with no access to the other side, is to grind the head of the bolt off, with an angle grinder, to release the hinge.

my thoughts
push it till it points down vertically
Oscillating saw /hacksaw in from the hinge side cut through bolt to release
and if you are careful and lucky all damage will be under the where the hinge covers
