I have an outdoor junction box with several wires connected via glands. I need to remove one of the wires from the junction box as it's redundant. Does anyone know how to seal the hole that is left without replacing the entire box?

If it's a threaded entry:

If it's not a threaded entry, this as well, although preferably in plastic (see least pic):

A plastic 20mm lock ring comes with one of these, ditch the other part.

Leave the old gland in place and fill it with a plug of silicone.

Unless it's on the top it doesn't need to be fantastically well sealed.

I remember someone at work putting a 5 p piece under the cable seal part of the gland.
