Removing a single tile from a tiled wall

dannyboi2003:

I will definitely try that first suggestion thanks.

To be honest we have only been in the property a week or so and I had a quick look in the loft for water pipes but I will need to have a more detailed look.

The other problem is that they seem to have floored over the access hatch to the sub floor aswell, so I cant really check there for any pipework.

There is evidence of the old cold water cylinder in the loft, which would have been positioned above the bathroom, would there be any chance of the stop cock being located in the loft space??

Quick update: I have received most of the items I need to remove the tile and create hatch, however I have been thinking more about the situation, the bathroom was tiled approx 6 years ago, by the people who were in the property before the people we bought it from, but the central heating system was totally replaced in jan 2011.

I was told be the seller we bought from that when they replaced the heating to a combi boiler system, no tiles were removed, and he thinks that the central heating installers 'found' the internal stop cock but he can't remember where they said it was.

Would the mains have needed turned off to install the new combi system?

I have left a message with the central heating installers, but have yet to hear back, maybe abit hopeful thinking they might remember where it is as the work was done about a year and a half ago??

My thinking is that it must be somewhere accessible as I presume the central heating installers would have had to put the water off whilst installing?
