Renault master brake discs.

My problem doesn't seem the same as your. My discs seem to get a film of rust after not being used for a few days, then that wears the pad, then there are gaps on the outer and inner part of the pad, for more rust and so on till the pad is convex and only touching the middle part of the disc.

Completely typical I'm afraid! The discs rust, the rust is tougher than the disc material and that of the pads, so the rust just gets polished. Those discs look a few years old though.
For a clean up, but not replacement, the technique is to tap the outer edge of the disc with a hammer, edge on, chipping away the rust lip.
John :)

I did clean them once, as you suggest, then while spinning the wheel, use a file similar to lathe turning.

If its any consolation.....
Just done discs and pads all round on my Audi A1 (61 plate, 30k).....absolutely awful condition on the disc inner sides, so Audi or not, it aint any better than any other make in this department.
New Blueprint discs and pads all round, + fuel filter £105.
John :)
