renovating an old cast iron fireplace

thanks for the pic.Ive got the heat resistant paint.Ive got the full back piece and the grate so i have to knock a bit out of the chimney breast to fit it.Ive collected a few logs and im just going to have a dim light wired up behing the logs in the fire to make it look more homely.It should look really nice when its done at the moment its partly stripped in the garden but underneath the layers of gloss is some elaborate decoration.Ive found roses and a sort of celtic/gothic design its just a nightmare picking the paint out of it.

I've done this and only way is steel rotary on electric drill followed by a few coats of paint. Fireplace paint is important, must be high temperature fireplace paint. I used http://www.hotspotonline.co.uk/products/stove-fireplace-paint with great results.
