All done. Took a year to order the part and 10 minutes to swap it.

The silver cone came off by hand and I found a 27mm socket on another set which fitted the nut.

Thanks very much, I might get a treat tonight ;)

Well done next time, pour very hot water over the plastic ring. It expands so is much easier to undo :)

@Ian H. Only just found this post. I have the exact same tap with the same issue. What diameter and overall length was the replacement cartridge? I don't want to dismantle the tap untill I've got the right cartridge. Cheers
