Hi all,
I've had some recent external works done and in the process of temporarily relocating my aerial it became loose and fell which has caused a split in the cable. What would be the best way of repair the cable without replacing the entire length of cable ?
Thanks

Pretty much as you se here, except with the addition of some self amalgamating tape for waterproofing.

What we have here is some screw-on F plugs (4x in this image because they're joining two bits of shotgun cable) and a couple of F-type back-to-back connectors.

You can get all of this from a local Tool Station.

Standard domestic TV coax is RG6 size, and because F plugs come in at least three different sizes (RG6, RG59, and the smallest size for the mini-coax used by Sky), then you want to make sure the plugs you buy will fit. RG6 is around 6.7mm diameter. The whole in the back of the plug will be a bit smaller because it has a screw thread.

You'll also need a bit of coax to 'fill the gap' so to speak after the cables are prepped unless of course there's some slack in the installation.

The back-to-back connectors are all the same size.
