Replace old bathroom downlights.

I put led bulbs in them too!!

Only thing is.... There was no earth wire in the lights. Ive seen this before with other light rigs, no earth, only at the switch. I assume this is ok.

What should i of done with the old earth wires in the cable? I just bent them back, away from others.

You'd use an MR16 it the blue box is a 12V transformer, or a GU10, if it's just a connector box.

Absolute rubbish. MR16 is multifacited reflector 16/8th" (2") diameter and can be found in 12v, 24v, 120v, or 240v. Many MR16 are also GU10 which is a type of base.
 
Well you live and learn don't you. I've only ever cone across them in those formats, so I assumed (erroneously) that that was the differentiation - shame you couldn't have been a bit politer in correcting me Winston
