Assuming your Duraflex frames accept 28mm units which they probably do then any acoustic unit can still only be 28mm overall so you'd be looking at 6.8mm acoustic laminated outer/18mm airgap/4mm inner float glass or toughened depends on each individual location, see glazing safety regs

What about 8mm acoustic laminated?

The window has a fixed pane that is quite large (~1800 X 1200). Wondering if the duraflex will take the weight.

Also - another thread mentioned that the gaskets in duraflex windows might wear particularly poorly - can they be replaced? I'm particular given that duraflex is out of business?
 
8.8 laminated is overkill and you'll need 4 people to lift it.

Duraflex gaskets can be changed, Google for Aquamac or Q-Lon or Schlegel and look for your specific shape
