Replacing bathroom tap - simple Q!

I think this is a simple question. This tap needs replacing. It has a pop-up waste but we just use a plug. What taps can I replace it with? Obviously only a tap needing one hole, but will a mono mixer work?

If we want to use a manual plug does this rule out any taps? Or can we just not install the pop-up/clicker waste of the new one?

Looking at the somewhat awkward accessibility, should I avoid DIY? I’ve never done any plumbing before and we’d be a bit stuffed if I messed up because the water would need to be off
