Replacing Honeywell wireless receiver with a Hive

This is the heat link, so would the Hive go:

Blue to N
Brown to L then L to 2
Then that other brown looking cable to 3

For the thermostat at the end I just keep them unplugged?

That other brown looking wire is an incorrectly used earth/cpc which has been sleeved, poor practice really.

You would need L to L, N to N, link L to Common (1) and switch live (On) to 3

I was just writing exactly the same as above!

I was interested in the cable between the Heatlink and stat, because ideally, unused cables shouldn't be left in wall.
As it is a flex, there would be less confusion than there would be, if the cable were a twin and earth.
If the flex can't be pulled out from the wall, disconnect it at both ends in a way that means it couldn't touch any of the mains carrying wires.

Then the same cabling for the Heatlink where the Hive was?

@RandomGrinch so I disconnect the brown and blue cable that goes into the T1 and T2?

The simplest solution is to mount the Hive receiver where the Heat link is, using the same cable.
The flex between the Heatlink and the stat then becomes redundant.

Yes.

:p
I wasn't sure whether he was swapping the Hive for a Nest or the other way round.
I was going to say that if he was swapping the Hive to a Nest then the link should be between L and 2 not 1.
But then I changed my mind in case he was doing it the other way round.

Thanks for all your help.

Swapped the Hive and Nest so my Hive TRV’s are now working with the Hive thermostat.

I did a silly think and not switch the power off when I was putting the Hive wall plate back on, thought I would be able to do it carefully….

Had a little shock…..
