Hi All,
I need to replace the tap in my kitchen sink, and the hot water isolation valve has seized - or at least it is really hard to rotate the "flat-head" part as it is stiff and so badly damaged that it's essentially impossible to turn. So I need to replace that as well. There's no further way of isolating the hot water supply between this point and the boiler (28l Worcester eco boiler) so what I'd imagine I need to do is turn off the main water to the house and then drain down the boiler from a lower point that this kitchen tap (bath hot tap, for example) and then I should be able to work on the isolating valve without water going all over the kitchen cupboard beneath the sink. Does this sound correct? And, would it be necessary to turn the boiler off entirely during this process?
Thanks in advance

Turn boiler off at mains switch.
Should be an isolation valve under boiler on the hot water pipe?
If not the stop tap
