My wife has seen a new light fitting in our local IKEA which she would like to replace an existing fitting. However, the new fitting only requires a live and neutral feed to its junction box hidden inside its body fitted flush to the ceiling. Unfortunately, the wires supplying the current loop in rose emerge from a one inch diameter hole in the ceiling board and, in order to hide them, I cannot access the void, from above, due to the Wayroc flooring. I don’t want to cut a larger hole in the ceiling, which may compromise any future fittings. Any useful suggestions, before I give the disappointing news to my wife?

Haven’t fully investigated, but I’m not sure if the cabling has sufficient slack to pull down when wiring the junction box.
