Replacing pull cord switch with a wireless light switch

Sponsored Links
Hi,

We currently have a pull cord switch in the bathroom that operates both downlights and the extractor fan. I'm planning to replace it with a wireless switch (see photo 1). The wireless receiver has both IN and OUT options for L/N wires, however my pull cord switch only has two wires L/N (see photo 2).

I'm therefore not sure how to install the wireless receiver ... i.e. when I remove the pull cord switch, should the L/N wires go into the IN or OUT end of the wireless receiver? Or do I need to find the main connection up in the loft to install the wireless receiver there?

Thanks and advance!
Please can you share the solution? I'm wanting to do the exact same thing but the pull cord part only has 2 wires - what did you end up doing?

He worked out that he needed to connect the switch at the light.
The connections that you need will probably be there, not at the switch.

Thanks, but he had downlights, same as me... The solution isn't in the light I believe
It will be up there. There will be a junction box that feeds the downlights.
Stop arguing, the pull switch does not have the connections that you need, well it could, but you would need to add another cable, and that would be run from the downlight junction box in any case.
Show us the wiring at the JB. .
