Hello
ive looked and not found an answer for this, I hope, quite simple socket replacement question.
Im replacing double sockets in a bedroom with multiple sockets in them. The old sockets have one N terminal and one L and one Ground terminal. Two cables with two live and two neutral wires are fixed together into each appropriate terminal. And one earth wire into the single earth terminal on the old socket.
The new sockets have 6 receptacles - obviously one L and one L and one G for each of the two sockets.
Is it a simple matter of separating the appropriate wires and putting them into correct terminals including finding and adding the earth from the second cable which seems to have been cut off.
or will this disrupt the ring in the room for the other sockets and is it a more complex process?
many thanks in advance
