Hi all

Just about to take the plunge and finish an incomplete extension... so I am looking for advise for some decent tools.

The main jobs are cutting battens/noggins/and some stud cutting/cupboard forming etc, there will also be quite a lot of skirting work.

I'm looking for advice for workbenches, power saws etc, anything you guys can give. I don't mind spending a bit of dosh for some good kit that is up to the job and useful for other Diy work.

Ta very much

Couple of folding sawhorses, the black stanley plastic ones are good enough, a couple of speedclamps, sheet of 18mm ply, this all makes your easy pack away workbench.
Add a sliding mitre saw, 250mm or above. Or you could get a combi table/mitre saw or the dewalt flip-over. Have a scroll through the tools and materials section for previous advice on saws.

Or could just save the money and get one of these and a workmate.

Cheers for that!! do you know I've spent hours trawling through this site, and thought to myself "strange they haven't got a section on tools", I couldn't see the wood for the trees!

There are some great tips in that section.

Yeh, there's a few questions about chainsaws in there too ;)
