I think this programme they show on the bbc is just picking on the working class you never see anything about rogue contractors or banks or corporations if i even mension a few mod would wipe them clean but its ok to show this programme on tv showing working class and what about rogue estate agencies and rogue job agencies

I do wonder. If during the filiming of one of these episodes, they discovered that the traders involved were model citizens, doing an excelent job, would it be aired I realise that the chances of this happening would be quite small, as they obviously choose traders with a known record of being absolute bounders. The trouble is, since these programmes concentrate on just the minority bad element, it does give the public a grossly distorted image of the building trade.

You know what they should call the programme? "Rogue Traders"... that would be a good name for a programme about "rogue traders" don't you think?

i had my own security business in the 80s and i can tell you there are so many underhand tricks ( illegal ) that they get up to the bigger the corporation the more you get dodgy deals

wouldnt surprise me if the beeb was afraid to air some of what goes on

quantity surveyors now theres a breed apart they are mostly total rogues the list goes on

build your own property using opm ( other people materials ) oh it happens
1 bungalow later and total cost was the land

ive got to say slogger i was a qs for a few years, while i was training when i was young and one of the reasons i left was because of what went on. I dont think you are too far from the truth in some cases

and there are plenty of rougue traders out there. How many times has an Irish man knocked on you door offering to do your drive/garden/guttering etc. We had three in a year.

Anyway it works like this

my "Rogue" plumb mate goes to "estimate" a job , old lady he sees boiler not working goes thru checklist , sees ignition spark wire "pulled-OUT" ......urrrgh ..hows that happened he thinks ...(thinking she IS SENILE an doesnt want to leave any fault in HIS Name (corgi), as last man on boiler .. )

he puts it back an tests/ purges appliance an relights appliance on asking "Nice sweet old lady has she or any one been playing with the boiler " OFF CAMERA ,
next he says he better service the whole boiler,ON Camera ....
CUT too EXPERT IN LOFT saying to the dopey kid presenter , look he is fleeceing her !,
nothing wrong with that boiler !

he does service charges in all £89 ((that nothing !!!))having been there for 4hrs

on leaving he leaves cards an fills out corgi Bull at 20 mins in her kitchen on HIS TIME
the Tv show say he spent 30mins writing out a bill ...

on going to his van he was followed by a right fit young bird/lass ..
she said he had been filmed on the show Rogue Traders an was he a rogue trader ????????????, he laughed an said ,NO ..NO .lol of course not ..lol


then this lil kid presenter comes up an says to a stunned mate an says how can you fleece old people , have you no shame ,etc

1st reaction would be to plant the lil Tw*t ..

THEN they cut an the presenter thanked him an said sorry an some are cowboys others arent ...
He THEN ADDED the KILLER TYSON PUNCH ...

but if you want to be on the show as good tradesman just sign the release ... see if we can show clips of you ...

where a pakistani family had employed him to fit central heating to 2 terrace houses , he did one good job an started the other an they stopped paying anything , so he did an left the house uproot (quite rightly so )


next day the Trading standards were saying he was a Racist (although he has an asian wife .lol)an he had left them in a BAD WAY ..LOL ...

this was sorted weeks before Rogue traders but his name was on there file an the Beeb must either steal it or they break the data act about SO CALLED bad traders , lol ..

I told him I would sue
but lots of blokes my age think its just petty ..
we fall over, we get up look about see if any one saw, an get on with it ,

nowadays they sue for nothing ...
I hear though the counter lawsuit is coming from the US to our shores soon an is around like shark for business /councils now .. ??

you fell outside the post office you sued him for leg damage/whatever , you get £9000

post office man counter sues your false claim ,on every lawsuit the firm/council will always follow you 24 hrs an record everything you do (councils are actively doing it now )

most roofers will work for a firm one week an another the next , lots of big contract firms have paddies on the books , last series had many micks I know , an were given a "Bung " to shown , from what I heard from them ****ed it was just a tenner , but they say sober they got 100s ..Boll**ks

best I ever seen though is these REAL BAD WORKERS are still on "The Slippage"(in old days lads wanting a start on the roofs had to wait for a slippage ..YIKES..LOL)

I got filmed once...(having bought some dodgy ex-company's numbers) I did my usual job found fault within 5 mins, fixed and boiler given it a quick once over within 20.... apoligized to the customer as I'd have to charge for the first hour @45 +VAT, as we charged per hour or any part hour, as explained over the telephone by the office.

Next thing I know - I get some spotty nerd asking for my consent to be shown as a 'good guy'. I said somthing along the lines of no (but slightly less politely).

Last I heard of it.
