Rolf Harris Arrested

Would ANYONE really trust the police to keep schtum ?. :?:

I think not .

Here's my experience of the police in sensitive matters...

Had a patient join my surgery . . she was pregnant and her medical records indicated she was a victim of domestic abuse.

She was going to be monitored ante natal by one of our GPs...

however she registered her boyfriend at the surgery too... alarm bells rang because his record noted he was on probation for attacking her and there was a restrictive order in place not allowing him to see her or be anywhere she was . . . and she was registering him as a patient at my surgery? Bringing in a form HE had signed..

Obviously the restraining order wasn't working.
So I told the district nursing crew and the Police.

Expecting there to be a hands off monitoring response with concern for the unborn baby instead the police just blurted out to the young lady . .

YOUR DOCTORS SAYS YOU ARE SEEING YOUR BOYFRIEND AGAIN WHERE IS HE?

At which point she rang us up to complain we had told the police and then dissapeared off the radar completely. She didn't come to see our GP and she did not get any home visits because she had absconded and the district nurses would not visit her without a police escort which the police were unable to provide.

So in effect that mother and child had ZERO health checks befoe the birth of the baby which was done through A & E . .

I could not believe (could really) the crass stupidity of the Police opening their stupid mouths.

That mother could have got any number of dangerous conditions but us as her GPs would never have found out because the police had been slack, gobby and lacking in intelligence.

In short....YOU let her down.

She trusted her surgery to do their job regarding her healthcare, but you f*cked it.
Now the trust has gone and her healthcare suffers. Well done. :D

I can hear MDF's furious tapping of the keyboard from here.

Come on Bean even you must realize that what should really have happened is that he was observed and picked up with no reference to why he had been found.

So what should have been my actions realizing he was breaking rules and was a violent danger to both the girl and potentially the child.

Are you suggesting the police should NOT have been notified.

you can't have it both ways but you can pretty much guarantee when you lot get involved it goes tits up!!

You think you're so funny.

Instead you show yourself up as repeatedly insensitive & unthinking...

Concentrated your efforts on her healthcare, the very thing you are there to do, that's what.

They may have made it up and are starting a new life, you don't know. Hardly running in fear was she.
Let HER call the old bill if a restraining order has been broken and she's not happy. Nothing to do with you.

Are you suggesting the police should NOT have been notified.

Yes.

You wasted everybody's time and damaged the patient-doctor relationship, resulting in her healthcare no doubt suffering.

Everybody loses, as a direct result of your incompetence.
