Hello,

I'm having my gutters replaced and thought it would be a good opportunity to clean the roof on my porch canopy. I didn't quite realise how dirty it was until looking at the survey pictures. It's about 3 metres wide by 2 metres long. Local quote was £250 which I think it a bit steep for a pretty small area. I have a Karcher K4 pressure washer. I can get this attachment kit for Just over £100 and some SmartSeal cleaner for £35. Is it an easy DIY job at this height and would this kit do the job ok?

That kit is for for windows and plastic facades not clay or concrete roof tiles. If you get someone to do it, don't use to much pressure, tiles stripped of all dirt can look too clean. Better just removing the moss etc with a gentle pressure.

A brush, or broom does all that is needed.

It does indeed but the modern trend is for poles snd water. People want more for less effort

You get get a chemical that kills moss, without the damaging effects of jetting or scrubbing the tiles. Once dead, it will dry up and weather away

I use Wet and Forget, but there are other brands.

Thanks a lot yes I've ordered some wet and forget - I have one of those pressurised sprayers and I can easily reach the whole porch with that.
