Hi

I went in my loft last week and saw wood and felt above damp

Got roofer the next day and he has has fitted 4 tile vents and dry vent system on the ridge

The timber is still damp and the felt under slate still damp

I haven't had much rain for few days

How long will it take for the timber and wood to dry or for me to see improvements

Thanks

Depends on how wet the timber is, the temperature in the loft, the external temperature and the air movement around the timber.

Yes aware is half damp and cold in loft possibly 5 degrees similar to outside temp

Will it take weeks months or days just need an idea

Weeks probably.

It's likely it was condensation in the first place

The thing is, was your roofer's solution correct, or correctly implemented?

has the roofer cut the underlay to allow ventilation ?
is your loft properly insulated?

Yes underlay cut at 4 angle in the vents

I just hope the roof not leaking and damaging the timber

Not seen any water coming in property just seen felt damp and wood wet
