Hi I need some advice.. am getting full re-roof done with clay plain tiles as it in terrible state, plus getting loft converted with dormer. Have also asked for guttering, soffits and fascias to be done. Roofer going to cap fascia's .....is that ok? I cannot tell if existing timber is rotten, but whole house is in bad state. For re-roof have asked them to rebatton, felt, retile, new lead etc.

Thanks.

You can only use capping board if the wood is all good and rot free.
Only you or your contractor can make that decision.

If I had a full replacement I would not want to reuse anything from the old roof .

fair enough. Any views on whether to add fascias to gable end or leave them off. I guess they are not necessarily needed.
