there is water coming down my wall, I have noticed there is concrete fillet down the side of my roof, I would like to replace it with lead flashing, what do you suggest, is it easy, and how should i go about it, Thanks
Not really a job for the amateur. You are going to have to carry out a lot of work on the roof - hence you need at least scaffold tower and roof ladder.
If you look at other houses around you, you might see how this has been done before. You can "step" the lead flashing into the existing brickwork which looks very nice or alternatively cut a straight line with an angle grinder for the flashing to bed into. Either way it involves working at height and with lead.
The problem is that if you don't feel you can do it you are at the mercy of any old Tom, Dick or Harry unless you can get someone on personal recommendation.
I had this done on my old house, got three quotes but still got ripped off although at least the roof didn't leak afterwards. You live and learn.
As I moved within a year I think I should have just got up there and replaced the fillet. Flashing is best as mortar will crack in the end.
