How much is a first class stamp now??

And I'm waiting for a parcel sent nearly 3 full days ago by RM48. 48 stands for the number of hours it should take to reach you.

But I think RM take it to mean that 48 is the number of extra hours it will take to get to you....

Their website advised 2-3 days .... But sender's are paying for 2 days, 3 should be cheaper.

Rant over.

Always found Royal mail, to be the best of the bunch.

Especially for high value items.

There can be other reasons - the seller. Postal stickers ofany type can appear very quickly at the sellers end but that doesn't mean that RM actually has what ever it is.

Week end factors can also mess things up.

Perhaps, but their insurance ain't worth Jack.

They lost a high value parcel of mine last year.

Insured for £1500, Special Delivery before 1300 next day.

Never arrived at destination.

Tracking showed it to be in RM bham sorting office.

Eventually, the intended recipient (Gov. Dept, as it happens) of the parcel billed me for their loss.
Approaching £1500.
Which I had to pay.

RM initially refused to pay up my claim, as they said the value of the insured item was inflated.
Despite them having the invoice from Gov. Dept.

RM continue to refuse to reimburse me to this day, despite ongoing demands.

Tracking still shows the parcel as being in the Bham sorting office.

Also Trading Standards "should" be interested. Local offices can be found on the web.

Conservative mantra was to privatise the postal service and make it more competitive and better. The chickens are coming home to roost.

That's disgusting behaviour.

Can't you make a small claim?

And your extra time and effort which you are having to spend. Private companies can deal with complaints very slowly to wear you down and hope you give up. Negative publicity sometimes forces the issue , but quite often they will dig out a clause in their t and c,s to defeat you. Pay more for a better service is pro offered. Have been "re-educated" business wise myself. Cynic me ? Yes. Good luck with your claim. Have had a couple of orders from ebay not recieved. Ebay have always refunded me. Did wonder who took the order or whether it was posted or "lost" in the system ?
