Rusted toilet seat bolts

A mountain out of a mole hill, but:
Does wing nuts or 10mm hexagon.
Chuck away any replacement nylon fixings and wind on a 10mm stainless nut and penny washer - not forgetting the rubber pad of course.

Obviously this thread is bogged down.

Easiest to cut the seat off for access. Then grind away from the top. The bolt is likely screwed into the hinge piece. You might even be able to unscrew by turning the hinge piece.

Stainless steel fixings can gall creating a bigger problem than rust, and impossible to cut with a hacksaw.
 
Some posts have been removed and thread locked.
Stainless steel cuts well enough with a hacksaw - in this instance anyway. Depending on the formula, it can be softer.
