Slogger, lets get a few things straight, the Sanctions imposed on Iraq were not George Bush's sanctions, they were imposed by the UN in a majority vote by nearly 150 nations and they were implemented when Bush was a simple Governor of Texas and Clinton was in power.
Secondly, the reason many Iraqi's died due to the sanctions was because Saddam and his cohorts kept the majority of food and medicine for their hangers on and families and the higher echelons of the Iraqi military.
The Iraqi's had enough food, water and medicines, but the regime stockpiled tens of thousands of tonnes of the stuff for their own use and failed to distribute it.
Whilst I am no fan of GB, to compare him to Saddam shows a naive lack of understanding of the Politics surrounding the subject over the 15 years.
