Sanity Check - First Floor Lighting

Got it wrong!

So a deeper dive in to the hidden world of my loft has revealed the following....

From what I can make out the N+E are in a grey cable with the single Red Cable to the live to the main switch....

The landing light is connected to the downstairs ring main. The rest are on the first floor ring.

The landing light has a switch on the first and ground floor.

Can you sort the photo out - the blood is rushing to my head. ;)

Looks like a standard early 60's arrangement with the neutral black forming a link between each ceiling rose and eventually back to the Consumer unit.
The reds provide loop power in and out to the switch and another black (I assume from your drawing) acting as switch live from the switch to the light.
Not come across just a black neutral and earth in grey before. Lots of single core black in a grey cable though. Are you sure there is an earth included as well - or maybe the red has been cut back and it is T&E.

This arrangement tended not to have an earth to the lights - because it wasn't a requirement then. Are you sure you have a connected earth at the lights?

This is the photo of the switch for the landing light....

I'll attach some other photos...
