We have approx 1" (or 10mm) of the white stuff hereabouts & the txt has just come that school is closed.

Apparently teachers cannot drive here, but I can drive out to pick up the grandkids while DiL goes off to work !

My second-born's (secondary) school is closed again.

Although there was quite a bit of snow yesterday, I think the main reason was more to avoid a repeat of last time (snowball carnage in the canteen.)

Lol. You expect a troll to give their approximate location? Rule #1 in the book of trolling!
Well, it must be a snowy area, so it could be anywhere north of Oxford...even Ulster had a drop or two o' the white stuff.
Is Dork's Tower lost in the Mists of Mourne?
We need answers.

He's not saying there is alot he's saying there is bearly 10mm. That's less than a fingers width

He also says "We have approx 1". 10mm is not even 1/2". Just sayin'

Met Office are saying -4C here tonight but BBC Weather are saying -11C. That's a weirdly big disparity. The last time that happened was when the Met Office correctly predicted a temperature inversion which the BBC missed.

A strange weather prediction for our area. The BBC website is predicting a fall in temperature in the hour between 5pm and 6pm of 7 degrees, from zero to minus 7. That's happening whilst the sun is still out. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like that. What sort of weather event could cause that?

8.00am this morning we continued to have rain.
8.15am the rain turned to light snow.
8.30am the light snow became heavy snow, (just as we were setting off to take lad to Uni).
8.45am am stuck in traffic 2 miles down the road.
9.52am (and a further 11 miles), we arrive at Uni in a blizzard.

The roads leading into town from all directions were flooded because of the run off from fields, clogged drains and no gritters overnight, which led to numerous small accidents/shunts which, due to the narrow roads, caused traffic jams.

10.00am left the Uni car park and the sun came out and by 10.45, as we were sitting in a cafe having breakfast, most of the snow had disappeared.

The Gods were against us this morning.
Had a further light flurry of snow as we went back to pick him up but now the sun is shining again.
