Good, I heard him say on TV, "I'm not English I'm a Scot." Never liked him from that day on.

I'd support anyone in the world cup against Scotland.............. oh, apart from the fact they're too carp to even qualify

I'm not English either, I'm a Scot too. That makes me a British Scot, just like you'll be an English Britisher. I get the impression you think Britain is English.
We're all Jock Tamson's bairns.

When Henman was doing his bit it was "come on the English". Now cause Murray is a Scot it's "British". Let's face it, we're that desperate for someone to shape themselves at tennis, the English will even get behind a Scot..... until he loses. Then he's just a miserable, bad tempered jock.

why do they always hype up a british sportsperson so much , putting so much pressure and expectation on them knowing that once they meet a "proper" opponent that they will have the floor wiped with them?

avoiding the Eng v Scot argument, can i make a wider observation... why is it that us brits don't seem to have the b@lls to make it to the top in any sport? We are good at most sports because of the infrastructure and investment (we're good at that).
But when it comes to the crunch, in any sport, we don't have that cutting edge, killer instinct, that gives you that last ounce of strength, that the southern hemisphere nations, or any other country seem to muster.
Is it to do with our temperate climate, or our temperate nature?

If Murray had got his first serve in gear he'd have won IMO. End of the day, Federer would have trounced him in the final if today's performance is anything to go on. Would be nice to see Roddick win but I can't see the match on Sunday taking too long to be honest.

Not many in that list currently doing much. Redgrave was carried to the last 2 golds (Pinsent was rowing for 2). Still good to get the first 3 though.

Oh so we've got to have the Top Sports men/women every year? Did you watch the Olympics?

One thing this country is superb at is 'knocking'!

No, but sometime recent will do. How many years since a Brit male won Wimbledon? And don't roll your eyes at me - that's female behaviour. :p
